- Top Indian power companies including Adani Power, NTPC, Torrent Power, and JSW Energy plan investments exceeding Rs 5.5 lakh crore to expand thermal power capacity by over 50 GW by 2032.
- India is building 10,000 km of new greenfield expressways with an investment of ₹6 lakh crore to improve connectivity and boost economic growth.
- Indian Railways reported capital expenditure of ₹1.42 trillion during April-September 2025, focusing on infrastructure expansion and modernisation.

FINANCIAL NEWS
- HSBC has committed $1 billion (around Rs 8,880 crore) to support Indian start-ups through its Innovation Banking platform, offering working capital and term loans for early to late-stage companies.
- India’s National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), in collaboration with fintech Razorpay and Microsoft-backed OpenAI, has launched a pilot enabling AI-driven e-commerce payments directly via ChatGPT using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
- India’s outbound foreign direct investment was $4.41 billion in September 2025, showing a moderate decline year-on-year but an increase from August.
- The World Trade Organization (WTO) updated its projection for growth in global goods trade to 2.4% for 2025, citing positive resilience amid economic headwinds.

- The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by CM N Chandrababu Naidu, approved 30 investment proposals, including Google’s $10 billion hyperscale data centre in Visakhapatnam, expected to generate 188,000 jobs and boost the state’s GSDP by ₹10,518 crore annually during 2028-2032.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several key infrastructure projects in Maharashtra on October 9, 2025, including Metro Line 3 of Nagpur Metro and the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) project.
