INDUSTRY NEWS
- India has developed its first indigenously conceptualised, developed, and clinically validated antibiotic, Nafithromycin, targeting resistant respiratory infections, especially beneficial for cancer patients and poorly controlled diabetics.
- Reliance Industries will initiate solar power generation at its colossal Kutch renewable energy project in the first half of the fiscal year 2026–27, reinforcing its mission towards net-zero carbon emissions.
- GST rate rationalisation is expected to boost organised apparel sector revenue by 200 basis points by fiscal year 2026-27, driven by improved compliance and reduced taxation.

- The Reserve Bank of India sold $7.6 billion in August 2025 to stabilize the rupee amid pressure, with the real effective exchange rate (REER) declining to 97.6.
- RBL Bank aims to strengthen its wealth management business and broaden its customer base leveraging the strategic partnership with Emirates NBD, announced after recently expanding its banking offerings.
