PIB NEWS
- The Union Cabinet approved the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for phosphatic and potassic fertilizers effective from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, with a tentative budgetary requirement of approximately ₹37,952.29 crore to ensure affordable fertilizer availability for farmers.
- The Ministry of Coal will launch “Koyla Shakti”, a smart analytics dashboard for real-time monitoring and data-driven governance of coal sector operations, enhancing transparency and efficiency.
- The National Biodiversity Authority released ₹55 lakh to 18 farmers cultivating Red Sanders in Tamil Nadu, marking a landmark benefit-sharing initiative under the Access and Benefit Sharing framework to promote sustainable biodiversity conservation.
- National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) paid a dividend of ₹43.89 crore to the Government of India for the financial year 2024-25, reflecting its financial strength and contribution to MSME empowerment.
- WaveX, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, signed an MoU with T-Hub to create a nationwide incubation ecosystem to support India’s AVGC-XR startup sector through mentorship, infrastructure, and innovation centres.

INDUSTRY NEWS
- BPCL, Oil India, and Numaligarh Refinery signed agreements for a $11 billion refinery project in southern India, a 700-km cross-country fuel pipeline, and marketing organic fertilisers from BPCL’s biogas plant in Kochi.
- India became the world’s fourth-largest renewable energy producer with an installed capacity of 257 GW, driven by ambitious solar and wind projects and government incentives.
- India’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainable policies may prompt earlier-than-planned retirement of coal-based power plants, accelerating the country’s energy transition.

- The Government of Andhra Pradesh has formed a Data Centre Advisory Council to guide policy and investment aiming for a 6,000 MW data centre capacity by 2030, leveraging major investments like Google’s 1 GW and Sify Infinity’s 550 MW data centres in Visakhapatnam.
- The Government of Uttar Pradesh is preparing ₹5 trillion worth of private sector projects to be showcased at the 5th Global Business Conference (GBC), scheduled for next month, aiming to attract substantial investment and foster economic growth.
- Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Meta Platforms Inc. announced a strategic AI partnership valued at Rs 855 crore, with RIL later clarifying that the transaction does not involve equity transfer or fund movement between companies.
