- The Ministry of Food Processing Industries enhanced the ICCVAI Scheme under PMKSY with a ₹1,920 crore budget boost, new multi-product food irradiation units, and updated operational guidelines to build a seamless cold chain and reduce post-harvest losses for perishable commodities.
- NITI Aayog launched a strategic 10-year roadmap aiming to position India among the top three global hubs for advanced manufacturing by 2035, integrating frontier technologies such as AI, digital twins, robotics, and advanced materials
- India and Nepal signed key agreements to develop high-capacity cross-border power transmission infrastructure, enhancing regional grid connectivity, energy security, and electricity trade amid strategic cooperation talks
- Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCoE) signed agreements with partners to launch the Samriddh Gram Phygital Services Pilot in three villages across Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh, leveraging BharatNet infrastructure for seamless physical + digital service integration.
- APEDA facilitated India’s maiden air export of 500 kg of GI-tagged Indi Lime (Karnataka) and Puliyankudi Lime (Tamil Nadu) to the UK, marking a major milestone in global agri-product market expansion.
- Union Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy launched the KOYLA SHAKTI Dashboard and the Coal Land Acquisition, Management, and Payment (CLAMP) Portal, marking a significant step toward digital transformation and transparent governance in India’s coal sector.
INDUSTRY NEWS
- India’s total installed power capacity reached 500.89 GW as of September 30, 2025, with non-fossil fuel sources contributing around 51 per cent, achieving its COP26 Panchamrit goal five years ahead of schedule.
- Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution division secured major contracts worth Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 crore in Saudi Arabia to develop a 380/33 kV gas-insulated substation and over 420 kilometres of 380 kV overhead transmission lines.
- India’s copper demand surged 9.3 per cent year-on-year to 1,878 kilo tonnes in Fiscal Year 2025, driven by economic growth and increased adoption across sectors like infrastructure, renewable energy, and consumer durables.
- India’s data centre capacity is projected to double by 2027 and increase fivefold by 2030, driven by rising demand for cloud computing, OTT services, gaming, and digital transformation, according to a Macquarie Equity Research report.
FINANCIAL NEWS
- India is considering a bailout exceeding ₹1 lakh crore ($12 billion) for debt-laden state-run power distribution companies, contingent on reforms including privatisation or stock exchange listing.
- The Reserve Bank of India successfully repatriated additional gold reserves from foreign vaults, amid Western sanctions freezing Russia’s assets, strengthening India’s gold reserves and economic security.
- Starting November 1, bank depositors in India will be allowed to name up to four nominees for their bank accounts, improving succession and transparency in deposit ownership.
NATIONAL & STATES NEWS
- The Union Cabinet approved a budgetary allocation of Rs 37,952.29 crore for nutrient-based subsidy (NBS) rates on phosphatic and potassic (P&K) fertilisers, effective from October 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, ensuring availability at subsidised, affordable prices for farmers.
- The World Bank has approved a loan of over ₹2,450 crore to Kerala to strengthen its health system, improve quality care, and enhance service delivery across the state.
- Reliance Industries LimiteHindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) signed an agreement to cooperate in the production of the SJ-100 civil jet, advancing India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.d (RIL) and Meta Platforms Inc. announced a strategic AI partnership valued at Rs 855 crore, with RIL later clarifying that the transaction does not involve equity transfer or fund movement between companies.

- Stellerus will launch the world’s first satellite network providing three-dimensional wind data, enhancing weather forecasting, climate research, and renewable energy management globally.
- Japan launched the world’s first stablecoin fully convertible to the yen, enhancing digital currency adoption and bridging traditional and digital financial systems.
SPORTS NEWS
- Indian wrestler Sujeet Kalkal won the gold medal in the men’s freestyle 65kg category at the U23 World Wrestling Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, defeating Uzbekistan’s Umidjon Jalolov with a 10-0 technical superiority.
- British driver Lando Norris won the 2025 Mexican Grand Prix, overtaking his rivals to take the lead in the Formula 1 World Championship standings.
