PIB NEWS
- The National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) is driving India’s transition to clean energy with over ₹8 lakh crore investments, new hydrogen hubs at major ports, certification norms, and global innovation partnerships.
- Despite global headwinds and tariff challenges, India’s textile, apparel, and handicrafts exports grew marginally in April–September 2025, with remarkable resilience and broader market reach.
- Under National Quantum Mission, IIT Bombay researchers have developed India’s first indigenous Quantum Diamond Microscope (QDM), marking a breakthrough in nanoscale magnetic field imaging and semiconductor diagnostics.
- Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in India reported a net profit of ₹93,675 crore during the first half of FY 2025-26, with improved asset quality, robust advances growth, and advances in digital banking and government scheme implementation.
- The Ministry of Jal Shakti announced the winners of the 6th National Water Awards for 2024 recognizing excellence in water conservation and management across states, districts, urban bodies, institutions, and individuals.
IMPORTANT CIRCULARS
- The final redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2017-18 Series-VII reaching maturity on November 13, 2025, has been fixed at ₹12,350 per unit based on the average gold price over three preceding business days.
- The Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) 2024 jointly conducted by the IMF and World Bank highlights that India’s financial sector has become more resilient, diverse, and inclusive since the previous assessment in 2017, driven by economic growth and regulatory improvements.
INDUSTRY NEWS
- Adani Group is developing India’s largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Khavda, Gujarat, with a capacity of 1,126 MW/3,530 MWh, set for completion by March 2026 to support round-the-clock renewable energy.
- The Indian cement industry plans to expand grinding capacity by 160-170 million tonnes between FY26 and FY28 with an investment of Rs 1.2 lakh crore, marking a 75% increase over the previous three fiscals.
- Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has joined the global Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and committed to implementing nature-related financial disclosure reporting from fiscal year 2026.
- The India Deep Tech Alliance announced plans to invest approximately $10-15 million in promising deep-tech start-ups over the next few years to spur innovation and technological advancement.
- The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects India’s energy demand to increase significantly by 2035, driven by industrial growth, urbanisation, and rising lifestyles.
FINANCIAL NEWS
- India’s retail inflation measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) dropped sharply to a multi-year low of 0.25% in October 2025 from 1.54% in September due to GST rate cuts and subdued food prices.
- India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth for the second quarter of FY26 is projected at 7.2%, primarily supported by robust private consumption and improving investment activity.
- Public sector banks (PSBs) in India aim to raise Rs 9,000 crore by December 2025 through Tier-II bond issuances to bolster capital adequacy and support lending.
- The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) projects that GST rate rationalisation will boost India’s economic growth to 7.4% in fiscal year 2026.
